Emergency Call System (Assisted Living/Independent Living)

The eCall system operates on a secure, industry standard Wi-Fi technology platform, making it a robust, flexible and cost effective emergency call system solution for senior living communities.

Organizations building or renovating a senior living or long term care facility face an important decision in selecting an emergency call system. A key aspect of this decision is considering a system's capabilities in relation to its cost.

eCall System Capabilities:

  • Wi-Fi Location Tracking
  • Customizable calls give care staff the information they need to respond to
    alerts quickly and efficiently
  • Red lights on devices signal alerts
  • All Healthsense Wi-Fi sensors and devices can be upgraded over the air
  • Events are logged, time stamped and stored in the Healthsense Data Center
  • Site reports analyze call pendant usage and care staff response times
  • Custom responder contact lists
  • Staff can press "1" to automatically connect to resident during an alert call
  • Industry leading network and device supervision and maintenance

Why is the eCall system so beneficial?

The eCall system operates on a secure, industry standard Wi-Fi platform that provides a flexible long term solution.  The advantages of using a standard Wi-Fi platform over a traditional single purpose product is that the non-proprietary Wi-Fi platform can support more than just an emergency call system. The Wi-Fi network can support:

    • Electronic Health Record Management
    • Billing Data
    • Communications (staff Telephony)
    • Remote Monitoring
    • Vital Sign Monitoring
    • Internet connectivity for staff, residents and families
      throughout the facility

With a traditional stand alone emergency call system, senior living communitiies are forced to have individual solutions for each of the many necessary operations. Multiple separate solutions mean multiple network infrastructures, each with their own maintenance and operating costs. A non-proprietary Wi-Fi network solution greatly simplifies this issue. Care providers are able to operate multiple services on one network. Not only does a non-proprietary Wi-Fi solution lower operating costs, it also helps ensure that a senior living community will not become locked into an obsolete proprietary solution.

    How It Works

Residents initiate alerts through wireless pendants and pull cords throughout the community.  Staff receive calls on portable phones with information about the alert and the resident's location.
